  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crime prevention; amending the definition 
  1.3             of local correctional fees; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 2000, section 244.18, subdivision 1. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 244.18, 
  1.7   subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [DEFINITION.] As used in this section, 
  1.9   "local correctional fees" include fees for the following 
  1.10  correctional services:  
  1.11     (1) community service work placement and supervision; 
  1.12     (2) restitution collection; 
  1.13     (3) supervision; 
  1.14     (4) court ordered investigations; or 
  1.15     (5) any other court ordered service; 
  1.16     (6) post-prison supervision or other form of release; or 
  1.17     (7) supervision or other services provided to probationers 
  1.18  or parolees under section 243.16 to be provided by a local 
  1.19  probation and parole agency established under section 244.19 or 
  1.20  community corrections agency established under chapter 401.
