  1.2             relating to municipal contracting; clarifying the 
  1.3             definition of school district contracts; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 471.345, subdivision

  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 471.345, 
  1.8   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2.  [CONTRACT DEFINED.] A "contract" means an 
  1.10  agreement entered into by a municipality for the sale or 
  1.11  purchase of supplies, materials, equipment or the rental 
  1.12  thereof, or the construction, alteration, repair or maintenance 
  1.13  of real or personal property.  In the case of a school district, 
  1.14  "contract" includes an agreement entered into by the district 
  1.15  for the sale of supplies, materials, or equipment to students of 
  1.16  the district.
