1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to health; modifying certain fee payment time 1.3 schedules; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 1.4 144.98, subdivision 3. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 144.98, 1.7 subdivision 3, is amended to read: 1.8 Subd. 3. [FEES.] (a) An application for certification 1.9 under subdivision 1 must be accompanied by theannualbiennial 1.10 fee specified in this subdivision. The fees are for: 1.11 (1) base certification fee,$250$500; and 1.12 (2) test category certification fees: 1.13 Test Category Certification Fee 1.14 Bacteriology$100$200 1.15 Inorganic chemistry, fewer than four constituents$ 50$100 1.16 Inorganic chemistry, four or more constituents$150$300 1.17 Chemistry metals, fewer than four constituents$100$200 1.18 Chemistry metals, four or more constituents$250$500 1.19 Volatile organic compounds$300$600 1.20 Other organic compounds$300$600 1.21 (b) The totalannualbiennial certification fee is the base 1.22 fee plus the applicable test category fees. Theannualbiennial 1.23 certification fee for a contract laboratory is 1.5 times the 1.24 total certification fee. 1.25 (c) Laboratories located outside of this state that require 2.1 an on-site survey will be assessed an additional $1,200 fee. 2.2 (d) The commissioner of health may adjust fees under 2.3 section 16A.128, subdivision 2. Fees must be set so that the 2.4 total fees support the laboratory certification program. Direct 2.5 costs of the certification service include program 2.6 administration, inspections, the agency's general support costs, 2.7 and attorney general costs attributable to the fee function.
