1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to drivers' licenses; allowing government 1.3 agencies to act as commercial driver training schools; 1.4 abolishing exemptions; amending Minnesota Statutes 1.5 2002, section 171.33, subdivision 1; repealing 1.6 Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 171.39. 1.7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.8 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 171.33, 1.9 subdivision 1, is amended to read: 1.10 Subdivision 1. [COMMERCIAL DRIVER TRAINING SCHOOL OR 1.11 SCHOOL.] "Commercial driver training school" or "school" means a 1.12 business enterprise conducted by an individual, association, 1.13 partnership, or corporation, or by an elected or appointed 1.14 authority of a state or local government agency, which charges a 1.15 fee, for the education and training of persons to drive motor 1.16 vehicles or for the preparation of an applicant for a driver's 1.17 license examination given by the state. 1.18 Sec. 2. [REPEALER.] 1.19 Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 171.39, is repealed.
