  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; providing medical assistance 
  1.3             coverage for pediatric vaccines; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1994, section 256B.0625, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 256B.0625, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 38.  [CHILDHOOD IMMUNIZATIONS.] Providers who 
  1.10  administer pediatric vaccines within the scope of their 
  1.11  licensure, and who are enrolled as a medical assistance 
  1.12  provider, must enroll in the pediatric vaccine administration 
  1.13  program established by section 13631 of the Omnibus Budget 
  1.14  Reconciliation Act of 1993.  Medical assistance shall pay a $12 
  1.15  fee per dose for administration of the vaccine to children 
  1.16  eligible for medical assistance.  Medical assistance does not 
  1.17  pay for vaccines that are available at no cost from the 
  1.18  pediatric vaccine administration program. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.20     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
