  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; providing for 
  1.3             reimbursement to counties for certain road costs; 
  1.4             appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, 
  1.5             section 84A.32, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 84A.32, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 1a.  [ROAD COST REIMBURSEMENT.] The commissioner 
  1.10  shall pay a county for road cost reimbursement incurred since 
  1.11  1986 under subdivision 1, paragraph (d), from the state portion 
  1.12  of project receipts and other appropriations available for that 
  1.13  purpose.  If funds available to the commissioner are 
  1.14  insufficient to pay the reimbursement request from the county 
  1.15  when received, within 180 days the commissioner shall designate 
  1.16  lands classified as agricultural by the county under section 
  1.17  282.14 or nonconservation under section 282.01 in the project 
  1.18  area of sufficient value to pay the reimbursement as approved to 
  1.19  be sold by the county under chapter 282.  Notwithstanding 
  1.20  sections 282.05 to 282.09, the proceeds shall be apportioned by 
  1.21  the county to road authorities for unpaid road cost 
  1.22  reimbursements required under subdivision 1, paragraph (d). 
  1.23     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.24     $431,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.25  commissioner of natural resources to pay Marshall county for 
  2.1   road reimbursement costs required under Minnesota Statutes, 
  2.2   section 84A.32, subdivision 1, paragraph (d). 
  2.3      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.4      Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
