A bill for an act
relating to retirement; providing for an actuarial cost estimate of a special
retirement plan for postsentencing officers and emergency dispatchers;
appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; POTENTIAL POSTSENTENCING OFFICERS
AND EMERGENCY DISPATCHERS RETIREMENT PLAN ACTUARIAL STUDY.

new text begin $....... is appropriated to the executive director of the Public Employees Retirement
Association to reimburse the association for the cost of preparing an actuarial cost study
of a potential separate special retirement plan for postsentencing officers and emergency
dispatchers prepared by the consulting actuary retained under Minnesota Statutes, section
356.214. The actuarial cost study must be based on the benefit plan components and
on the membership inclusions recommended by a special working group assembled
from interested employee and employer representatives as appointed by the chair of the
Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement.
