  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to local government; providing a maximum rate 
  1.3             for municipal water sales to another municipality; 
  1.4             proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.5             chapter 444. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [444.26] [MUNICIPAL WATER SALES TO ANOTHER 
  1.8   MUNICIPALITY.] 
  1.9      A municipality as defined in section 471.345 that provides 
  1.10  water to another municipality must provide the water at no more 
  1.11  than .. percent over the cost the providing municipality charges 
  1.12  its own residents. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective the day following its final 
  1.15  enactment.
