relating to state government; suspending compensation of legislators and the
governor until certain major budget bills have been passed by the legislature;
proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

BILLS PASSED BY LEGISLATURE.

new text begin Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, members of the legislature may not receive
salary or per diem living expenses and the governor may not receive salary after May 31
in an odd-numbered year until the legislature has passed and presented to the governor all
of the bills designated as major appropriation and revenue bills by law, or by rules of both
the house of representatives and the senate.
