relating to state government; requiring specified
portraits to remain on display in the Capitol
building; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 138.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Notwithstanding any law or agreement to the contrary, the
Minnesota Historical Society must maintain in their current
location the portraits of Julia Finch Gilbert and Cass Gilbert
which are on display on the second floor of the Capitol on the
effective date of this section, unless relocation of the
portraits is authorized by subsequent law.
