  1.2             relating to education; expanding eligible institutions 
  1.3             for purposes of the child care grant program; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 136A.125, subdivision 
  1.5             3. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 136A.125, 
  1.8   subdivision 3, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 3.  [ELIGIBLE INSTITUTION.] A Minnesota public 
  1.10  post-secondary institution, a Minnesota private, baccalaureate 
  1.11  degree granting college or university, or a Minnesota 
  1.12  nonprofit or private, for-profit two-year vocational technical 
  1.13  school granting associate degrees is eligible to receive child 
  1.14  care funds from the office and disburse them to eligible 
  1.15  students. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1997.
