A bill for an act
relating to crime; requiring the attorney general to appear on behalf of the state in
certain prosecutions of game and fish violations; amending Minnesota Statutes
2010, section 97A.255, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 97A.255, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin When requested by the county attorney, it is the duty of
the attorney general to appear within the county and assume primary responsibility for
prosecuting violations of this chapter when the defendant has asserted a defense based on
Indian treaty rights.
