  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to local government; authorizing abandonment 
  1.3             of a ditch; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [JOINT DITCH NO. 1, CHISAGO AND WASHINGTON 
  1.6   COUNTIES.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 103E.811, the 
  1.8   counties of Chisago and Washington may, after making a 
  1.9   determination that joint ditch no. 1 is not of public benefit 
  1.10  and utility, order its abandonment. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.12     $....... is appropriated in fiscal year 1998 from the 
  1.13  general fund to the board of water and soil resources for a 
  1.14  grant to Chisago and Washington counties for the purposes of 
  1.15  section 1.
