A bill for an act
relating to health insurance; requiring all health plans to provide coverage for
mental health services; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 62A; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 62A.152.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

This section applies to all health plans as defined
in section 62A.011, that cover medical services and inpatient hospitalization.

Every health plan in subdivision 1 must provide
coverage for mental health services as covered under chapter 256B.

This section is effective for any policy, plan, certificate, or
contract issued or renewed after January 1, 2010.
