  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Sand Dunes state forest; directing 
  1.3             establishment of a shooting area; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [89.021] [Subd. 45.] [SHOOTING AREA WITHIN SAND 
  1.6   DUNES STATE FOREST.] The commissioner of natural resources shall 
  1.7   design and establish a noncompetitive recreational shooting area 
  1.8   within Sand Dunes state forest.  The area shall be suitable for 
  1.9   sighting in legal handguns, rifles, and shotguns.  Discharge of 
  1.10  firearms shall only be permitted within the designated area, 
  1.11  unless other portions of the state forest are designated as open 
  1.12  to legal firearms hunting.  Notice of this restriction must be 
  1.13  clearly posted in prominent places throughout the state forest. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.15     $25,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.16  commissioner of natural resources for purposes of section 1.
