  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to housing; authorizing planning for a 
  1.3             residential facility for Indian students at Fond du 
  1.4             Lac Community College; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [AUTHORIZATION.] 
  1.7      The higher education board shall prepare plans from 
  1.8   predesign through development of construction documents for a 
  1.9   residential facility at Fond du Lac Community College.  The 
  1.10  facility is intended for Indian students, particularly from 
  1.11  urban areas, to help immerse them in the Indian culture while 
  1.12  attending the college.  The board shall present the plans to the 
  1.13  governor and legislature as part of its 1996 capital bonding 
  1.14  request. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.16     $500,000 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal 
  1.17  year 1996 to the higher education board for the purpose of 
  1.18  section 1.
