A bill for an act
relating to Hennepin and Wright Counties; authorizing
the Hennepin County Board and the Wright County Board
to initiate a process for the change of county
boundaries by resolution.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin HENNEPIN AND WRIGHT COUNTIES; CHANGE OF
BOUNDARIES.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 370.02, the
Hennepin County Board and the Wright County Board may by
resolution in lieu of the petition required by Minnesota
Statutes, section 370.02, initiate the process for a change of
boundaries of Hennepin County and Wright County to provide for
the inclusion of the entire corporate limits of the city of
Rockford in Wright County. The process for the change of county
boundaries must otherwise comply with Minnesota Statutes,
sections 370.01 to 370.24.

Sec. 2. new text begin LOCAL APPROVAL; EFFECTIVE DATE.

and Wright Counties in accordance with Minnesota Statutes,
section 645.023, subdivision 1, clause (a), on the day following
final enactment.
