  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing a fund transfer for 
  1.3             independent school district No. 531, Byron. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [BYRON.] 
  1.6      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 121.912, 
  1.7   subdivision 1, if independent school district No. 531, Byron, 
  1.8   discontinues operation of its bus fleet, or a portion thereof, 
  1.9   and transfers the account balance from the transportation fund, 
  1.10  the district may spread the required levy reduction for capital 
  1.11  levies according to Minnesota Statutes, sections 124.243, 
  1.12  124.244, and 124.83, over a five-year period beginning with 1995 
  1.13  levies payable in 1996. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
