  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state government; appropriating money to 
  1.3             renovate the capitol building; amending Laws 1996, 
  1.4             chapter 463, section 13, subdivision 4. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Laws 1996, chapter 463, section 13, subdivision 
  1.7   4, is amended to read:  
  1.8   Subd. 4.  Renovate Capitol
  1.9   Building                                              7,400,000
  1.10  $4,800,000 $3,765,000 is to predesign, 
  1.11  design, and reconstruct the 
  1.12  northeast terrace and predesign and 
  1.13  design the northwest terraces terrace 
  1.14  of the capitol building.  
  1.15  $1,400,000 is to renovate the lantern 
  1.16  and related structures on the capitol 
  1.17  dome. 
  1.18  $1,200,000 $2,235,000 is to predesign, 
  1.19  design, construct, furnish, and equip 
  1.20  the renovation of the capitol cafeteria 
  1.21  and related spaces.  
  1.22  The balance of the appropriation in 
  1.23  this subdivision that is not needed for 
  1.24  the projects specified may be used for 
  1.25  other structural stabilization projects 
  1.26  at the capitol or to improve the 
  1.27  capitol mall. 
  1.28     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.29     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
