  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the University of Minnesota; appropriating 
  1.3             money to the office of research and technology 
  1.4             transfer administration for purposes of developing an 
  1.5             international technology acquisition and transfer 
  1.6             system. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.9      $600,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the board 
  1.10  of regents of the University of Minnesota for the 1998-1999 
  1.11  biennium for the office of research and technology transfer 
  1.12  administration to provide a grant to the nonprofit institute for 
  1.13  invention and innovation to develop an international technology 
  1.14  acquisition and transfer system, in initial collaboration with 
  1.15  Scandinavia, Canada, and interested countries within the 
  1.16  European economic community.  $300,000 is available for the 
  1.17  first year of the biennium and $300,000 is available for the 
  1.18  second year of the biennium.
