BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin For fiscal year 2008, a school district's technology aid
equals $100 times its adjusted marginal cost pupil units for that year. For fiscal year
2009, a school district's technology aid equals $99 times its adjusted marginal cost pupil
units for that year.

new text begin A school district must spend its technology aid received
under subdivision 1 for computer and connectivity hardware, software and shared
licensing resources, online assessment activities, wiring, and staff development relating
to technology in the classroom.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATIONS.

new text begin $94,700,000 in fiscal year 2008 and $94,000,000 in fiscal year 2009 are appropriated
from the general fund to the commissioner of education for payment of technology aid
under section 1.
