  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state government; appropriating money for 
  1.3             use by nonprofit organizations for certain technical 
  1.4             assistance. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [MINNESOTA FUTURES FUND; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $1,500,000 is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 
  1.8   1999, from the general fund to the commissioner of finance.  The 
  1.9   commissioner of finance shall make transfers from this 
  1.10  appropriation to the Minnesota Futures Fund administered by the 
  1.11  Minneapolis Foundation for the purpose of providing technical 
  1.12  assistance to nonprofit organizations to assist them in 
  1.13  redesigning services and organizational structures in response 
  1.14  to the changes in federal and state welfare policy.  The 
  1.15  commissioner shall make the transfers in amounts necessary to 
  1.16  match nonpublic contributions to the fund.
