  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to economic security; increasing the 
  1.3             statewide, hourly reimbursement rates for the extended 
  1.4             employment program; appropriating money for the 
  1.5             continuation of the welfare-to-work extended 
  1.6             employment partnership program. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.9      Beginning in fiscal year 2002, $2,227,000 is appropriated 
  1.10  annually from the general fund to the commissioner of economic 
  1.11  security to increase the reimbursement rates for extended 
  1.12  employment services.  Effective for services rendered on or 
  1.13  after July 1, 2001, the commissioner shall increase by 20 
  1.14  percent all reimbursement rates under Minnesota Rules, part 
  1.15  3300.2035, subpart 6, item A, for extended employment services 
  1.16  for persons with severe disabilities or related conditions under 
  1.17  Minnesota Statutes, section 268A.15, and grants under Minnesota 
  1.18  Statutes, section 268A.06, subdivision 3. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.20     $3,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.21  commissioner of economic security to be added to the base 
  1.22  funding for extended employment services for the continuation of 
  1.23  efforts to provide extended employment training through the 
  1.24  welfare-to-work extended employment partnership program to 
  1.25  welfare recipients with severe impairments to employment as 
  1.26  provided for under Minnesota Statutes, section 268A.15.  Of this 
  2.1   appropriation, up to two percent may be used for administrative 
  2.2   costs. 
  2.3      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.4      Sections 1 and 2 are effective July 1, 2001.
