  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing additional funds for 
  1.3             facility and operating expenditures for the Minnesota 
  1.4             Valley Academy and Synergy Residential Academy; 
  1.5             appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $3,400,000 in fiscal year 2000 is appropriated from the 
  1.9   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.10  learning for facility and operating expenditures for residential 
  1.11  academies under Laws 1998, chapter 398, article 5, section 46.  
  1.12  Of this amount, $3,100,000 is for the Minnesota Valley Academy 
  1.13  for facility expenditures and $300,000 is for the Synergy 
  1.14  Residential Academy for operating costs. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
