  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to higher education; appropriating money for 
  1.3             course and degree offerings at the University Center 
  1.4             Rochester. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $1,705,589 in fiscal year 2000 and $3,638,194 in fiscal 
  1.8   year 2001 are appropriated from the general fund to the board of 
  1.9   regents of the University of Minnesota.  These appropriations 
  1.10  are to expand the university's responsibility for upper division 
  1.11  and graduate course and degree offerings at the University 
  1.12  Center Rochester.  Of these appropriations, $390,000 in fiscal 
  1.13  year 2000 is nonrecurring and $600,000 in fiscal year 2001 is 
  1.14  nonrecurring.
