  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; expanding payment of special 
  1.3             education aid to include special education 
  1.4             cooperatives or intermediate school districts as 
  1.5             designated by a participating school district; 
  1.6             amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 124.32, 
  1.7             subdivision 12. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 124.32, 
  1.10  subdivision 12, is amended to read: 
  1.11     Subd. 12.  [ALLOCATION FROM COOPERATIVE CENTERS AND 
  1.12  INTERMEDIATE DISTRICTS.] For purposes of this section, a special 
  1.13  education cooperative or an intermediate district shall allocate 
  1.14  its approved expenditures for special education programs among 
  1.15  participating school districts.  Special education aid for 
  1.16  services provided by a cooperative or intermediate district 
  1.17  shall be paid to the participating school districts or to a 
  1.18  special education cooperative or intermediate district if 
  1.19  designated by a participating school district.
