A bill for an act
relating to criminal justice; limiting the applicability of the resisting arrest crime;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 609.50, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 609.50, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin A person may not be arrested for a violation of subdivision
1, clause (2), that involves the person resisting the person's own arrest, if the person is not
also arrested for another offense.

committed on or after that date.
