  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to retirement; providing for crediting of 
  1.3             certain time served as a member of the St. Paul police 
  1.4             relief association. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PENSION COVERAGE.] 
  1.7      A former member of the St. Paul police relief association 
  1.8   who did not serve enough time to qualify for a service pension 
  1.9   from the association, and who later was employed in a position 
  1.10  covered by a pension plan listed in Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.11  356.30, subdivision 3, must have service time in the St. Paul 
  1.12  police relief association credited as if the service occurred in 
  1.13  the public employees relief association police and fire fund.  
  1.14  Any liability created by this section is a liability of the St. 
  1.15  Paul police consolidation account maintained by the public 
  1.16  employees retirement association. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE; APPLICABILITY.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment, 
  1.19  and applies to a person who is an active member of a fund listed 
  1.20  in Minnesota Statutes, section 356.30, subdivision 3, on that 
  1.21  date.
