  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; establishing code of ethics for 
  1.3             supervisory personnel; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.4             1996, section 125.05, subdivision 1c. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 125.05, 
  1.7   subdivision 1c, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 1c.  [SUPERVISORY AND COACH QUALIFICATIONS; CODE OF 
  1.9   ETHICS.] The state board of education shall issue licenses under 
  1.10  its jurisdiction to persons the state board finds to be 
  1.11  qualified and competent for their respective positions under the 
  1.12  rules it adopts.  The state board of education must develop, by 
  1.13  rule, a code of ethics for supervisory personnel covering 
  1.14  standards of professional practices, including areas of ethical 
  1.15  conduct and professional performance and methods of enforcement.
