  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to child care; modifying transitional child 
  1.3             care eligibility; amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, 
  1.4             section 119B.01, subdivision 16. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 119B.01, 
  1.7   subdivision 16, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 16.  [TRANSITION YEAR FAMILIES.] "Transition year 
  1.9   families" means families who have received AFDC, or who were 
  1.10  eligible to receive AFDC after choosing to discontinue receipt 
  1.11  of the cash portion of MFIP-S assistance under section 256J.31, 
  1.12  subdivision 12, for at least three of the last six months before 
  1.13  losing eligibility for AFDC due to increased hours of 
  1.14  employment, or increased income from employment or child or 
  1.15  spousal support.
