  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the Cannon River joint powers board. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.6      $350,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the board 
  1.7   of water and soil resources for a grant to the Cannon River 
  1.8   joint powers board for resource protection.  The money must be 
  1.9   used for: 
  1.10     (1) innovative best management practices to improve and 
  1.11  protect water quality; 
  1.12     (2) education and outreach to communicate resource 
  1.13  knowledge to citizens in the area; 
  1.14     (3) a monitoring and evaluation plan to track resource 
  1.15  progress; and 
  1.16     (4) development of a comprehensive plan to coordinate with 
  1.17  the affected counties and interested parties, and develop 
  1.18  strategies for conservation implementation.
