  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to health; modifying capitation rates for 
  1.3             nonmetropolitan counties under prepaid medical 
  1.4             assistance and prepaid general assistance medical 
  1.5             care; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 
  1.6             256B.69, subdivision 5b. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 256B.69, 
  1.9   subdivision 5b, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 5b.  [PROSPECTIVE REIMBURSEMENT RATES.] For prepaid 
  1.11  medical assistance and general assistance medical care program 
  1.12  contract rates set by the commissioner under subdivision 5 and 
  1.13  effective on or after January 1, 1997, through December 31, 
  1.14  1998, capitation rates for nonmetropolitan counties shall on a 
  1.15  weighted average be no less than 85 90 percent of the capitation 
  1.16  rates for metropolitan counties, excluding Hennepin 
  1.17  county statewide blended capitation rate paid during the 
  1.18  previous contract period.
