A bill for an act
relating to education; reimbursing student ACT and SAT university and college
entrance test fees; appropriating money; proposing coding for new law in
Minnesota Statutes, chapter 120B.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

(a) The ACT college admission achievement test administrated by ACT, Inc. and the
College Board's SAT reasoning test are well-established college entrance examinations
required for admission to most universities and colleges in the nation. These tests provide
students with access to postsecondary education needed to compete academically on
a global level.

(b) The state may reimburse ACT and SAT test fees for Minnesota public or
nonpublic high school students. The state may reimburse each student for up to four test
fees. The commissioner shall establish application procedures and a process and schedule
for fee reimbursements. The commissioner must give priority to reimburse the ACT and
SAT test fees of students of low-income families, as defined by the commissioner.

of education for the fiscal years designated for the reimbursement of student ACT and
SAT test fees:
