BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin A peace officer issuing a citation to a vehicle operator
under 18 years of age for a violation of this chapter must make
all reasonable efforts to contact a parent or guardian of the
person by telephone within a reasonable period of time after
issuance, informing the parent or guardian of the citation.
