  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; directing the Minnesota state 
  1.3             high school league to adopt a policy on corporate 
  1.4             sponsorships; repealing league provisions that 
  1.5             prohibit certain commercial relations, subject the 
  1.6             league to budget instructions from the finance 
  1.7             commissioner, permit the state board of investment to 
  1.8             invest nonretirement funds of the league and direct 
  1.9             the commissioner of children, families, and learning 
  1.10            to annually review league information; amending 
  1.11            Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 128C.02, subdivision 
  1.12            1; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2002, sections 
  1.13            128C.01, subdivision 5; 128C.02, subdivision 8; 
  1.14            128C.13. 
  1.15  BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.16     Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 128C.02, 
  1.17  subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.18     Subdivision 1.  [DECISIONS, POLICIES, ADVISORY COMMITTEES.] 
  1.19  The board shall establish and adopt policies, including a policy 
  1.20  on corporate sponsorships and similar agreements, make decisions 
  1.21  on behalf of the league, and establish advisory committees 
  1.22  necessary to carry out board functions. 
  1.23     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.24  following final enactment.  
  1.25     Sec. 2.  [REPEALER.] 
  1.26     Minnesota Statutes 2002, sections 128C.01, subdivision 5; 
  1.27  128C.02, subdivision 8; and 128C.13, are repealed. 
  1.28     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.29  following final enactment.
