  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing a levy for special 
  1.3             assessments; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 
  1.4             124.91, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 124.91, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 7.  [LEVY FOR SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS.] Each year, a 
  1.9   district may levy the amount needed to make special assessment 
  1.10  payments imposed by a local unit of government according to 
  1.11  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 429. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.13     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1995, and applies to revenue 
  1.14  for 1995-1996 and later school years.
