1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to courts; civil commitment; changing the 1.3 required qualifications of examiners; amending 1.4 Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 253B.02, subdivision 1.5 7. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 253B.02, 1.8 subdivision 7, is amended to read: 1.9 Subd. 7. [EXAMINER.] "Examiner" means a person who is 1.10 knowledgeable, trained, and practicing in the diagnosis and 1.11 treatment of the alleged impairment and who is: 1.12 (1) a licensed physician; or 1.13 (2) a licensed psychologist who has a doctoral degreein1.14psychologyapproved for licensure by the Minnesota board of 1.15 psychology or who became licensed as a licensed consulting 1.16 psychologist before July 2, 1975. 1.17 Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 1.18 Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
