A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for bioscience business
development programs.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

$2,200,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
employment and economic development for a grant to BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota,
for bioscience business development programs to promote and position the state as a
global leader in biobusiness activities. Funds appropriated under this section may be
used for completion of a statewide biobusiness industry assessment; long-term strategic
planning, including the identification of specific and measurable goals and objectives
to guide the development of biobusiness; and systems interaction modeling. This
appropriation is available for the fiscal biennium ending June 30, 2009.
