  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; modifying 24-hour angling 
  1.3             license fee and allowing issuance through lottery 
  1.4             machines; amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, sections 
  1.5             97A.475, subdivisions 6 and 7; and 97A.485, by adding 
  1.6             a subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 97A.475, 
  1.9   subdivision 6, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 6.  [RESIDENT FISHING.] Fees for the following 
  1.11  licenses, to be issued to residents only, are: 
  1.12     (1) to take fish by angling, for persons under age 65, $15; 
  1.13     (2) to take fish by angling, for persons age 65 and over, 
  1.14  $5.50; 
  1.15     (3) to take fish by angling, for a combined license for a 
  1.16  married couple, $20.50; 
  1.17     (4) to take fish by spearing from a dark house, $15; and 
  1.18     (5) to take fish by angling for a 24-hour period selected 
  1.19  by the licensee, $8 $1. 
  1.20     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 97A.475, 
  1.21  subdivision 7, is amended to read: 
  1.22     Subd. 7.  [NONRESIDENT FISHING.] Fees for the following 
  1.23  licenses, to be issued to nonresidents, are: 
  1.24     (1) to take fish by angling, $31; 
  1.25     (2) to take fish by angling limited to seven consecutive 
  1.26  days selected by the licensee, $21.50; 
  2.1      (3) to take fish by angling for a 72-hour period selected 
  2.2   by the licensee, $18; 
  2.3      (4) to take fish by angling for a combined license for a 
  2.4   family, $41.50; 
  2.5      (5) to take fish by angling for a 24-hour period selected 
  2.6   by the licensee, $8 $1; and 
  2.7      (6) to take fish by angling for a combined license for a 
  2.8   married couple, limited to 14 consecutive days selected by one 
  2.9   of the licensees, $32. 
  2.10     Sec. 3.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 97A.485, is 
  2.11  amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  2.12     Subd. 13.  [24-HOUR ANGLING LICENSES.] The commissioner and 
  2.13  the director of the state lottery shall cooperate to allow a 
  2.14  subagent who is also a lottery retailer under chapter 349A to 
  2.15  issue 24-hour angling licenses from lottery equipment.
