  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing a grant for 
  1.3             independent school district No. 701, Hibbing; creating 
  1.4             a common teacher retirement date; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [TEACHER RETIREMENT DATE.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 354.44, 
  1.8   subdivision 4, teachers retiring from the high school in 
  1.9   independent school district No. 701, Hibbing, shall have May 30, 
  1.10  1997, as their date of retirement for the purpose of receiving 
  1.11  retirement benefits. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [HIBBING GRANT.] 
  1.13     For a grant to independent school district No. 701, 
  1.14  Hibbing, for expenses not covered by insurance for a fire loss 
  1.15  at Hibbing high school: 
  1.16       $250,000     .....     1998 
  1.17     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.18     Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  1.19  enactment.
