A bill for an act
relating to retirement; Public Employees Police and Fire Retirement Plan;
reimbursing the retirement fund for the actuarial cost of the enhanced survivor
benefit granted in Laws 2005, First Special Session chapter 1, article 4, section
97; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PUBLIC EMPLOYEES POLICE AND FIRE RETIREMENT PLAN;
REIMBURSEMENT OF ACTUARIAL COST OF ENHANCED SURVIVOR
BENEFIT.

new text begin $416,287 is appropriated to the public employees police and fire retirement fund to
cover the actuarial accrued liability of the enhanced survivor benefit coverage enacted in
Laws 2005, First Special Session chapter 1, article 4, section 97, with respect to a former
St. Louis Park police officer killed while serving with the Minnesota National Guard in
Iraq on February 21, 2005.
