  1.5             actuarial value service credit purchase provisions in

  1.7             teacher fund associations, Minnesota state retirement 
  1.8             system, public employees retirement association, and 
  1.9             various other plans permanent rather than temporary 
  1.10            provisions; amending Laws 2000, chapter 461, article 
  1.11            12, section 20, as amended; repealing Minnesota 
  1.12            Statutes 2002, section 356.55, subdivision 7; Laws 
  1.13            1999, chapter 222, article 16, section 16, as amended; 
  1.14            Laws 2001, First Special Session chapter 10, article 
  1.15            6, sections 16; 21, as amended. 
  1.16  BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.17     Section 1.  Laws 2000, chapter 461, article 12, section 20, 
  1.18  as amended by Laws 2002, chapter 392, article 7, section 2, is 
  1.19  amended to read: 
  1.20     Sec. 20.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.21     (a) Sections 4, 5, and 11 to 20 are effective on the day 
  1.22  following final enactment. 
  1.23     (b) Sections 1, 2, 3, and 6 to 10 are effective on the day 
  1.24  following final enactment and apply retroactively to a faculty 
  1.25  member of the Lake Superior College who was granted an extended 
  1.26  leave of absence under article 19, section 4, of the united 
  1.27  technical college educators master agreement for the 1999-2000 
  1.28  academic year prior to March 20, 2000. 
  1.29     (c) Sections 5, 11, and 14, paragraph (c), expire on May 
  1.30  16, 2003. 
  2.1      Sec. 2.  [REPEALER.] 
  2.2      (a) Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 356.55, subdivision 7, 
  2.3   is repealed. 
  2.4      (b) Laws 1999, chapter 222, article 16, section 16, as 
  2.5   amended by Laws 2002, chapter 392, article 7, section 1, are 
  2.6   repealed. 
  2.7      (c) Laws 2001, First Special Session chapter 10, article 6, 
  2.8   sections 16 and 21, as amended by Laws 2002, chapter 392, 
  2.9   article 7, section 3, are repealed. 
  2.10     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.11     Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  2.12  enactment.
