  1.2             relating to agriculture; appropriating money for 
  1.3             hybrid tree management research. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $200,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 1998 and $200,000 
  1.7   is appropriated in fiscal year 1999 from the general fund to the 
  1.8   board of directors of the agricultural utilization research 
  1.9   institute for hybrid tree management research and development of 
  1.10  an implementation plan for establishing hybrid tree plantations 
  1.11  in the state.  This appropriation is available to the extent 
  1.12  matched by $2 of nonstate contributions, either cash or in kind, 
  1.13  for each $1 of state money.
