A bill for an act
relating to higher education; appropriating money to cover costs of inflation to
the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $57,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Board of Trustees of
the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for the fiscal biennium ending June 30,
2009. This appropriation must be used to cover a portion of inflation costs to the system,
including increasing costs in health insurance, utilities, and faculty and staff salaries.
