  1.2             relating to traffic regulation; authorizing peace 
  1.3             officers to stop vehicles bearing special series 
  1.4             license plates; proposing coding for new law in 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes, chapter 168. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [168.0422] [STOPS OF VEHICLES BEARING SPECIAL 
  1.8   SERIES PLATES.] 
  1.9      A peace officer who observes the operation of a motor 
  1.10  vehicle within this state bearing special series registration 
  1.11  plates issued under section 168.041, subdivision 6, or 168.042, 
  1.12  subdivision 12, may stop the vehicle for the purpose of 
  1.13  determining whether the driver is operating the vehicle lawfully 
  1.14  under a valid driver's license.
