  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the city of Moorhead; requiring a majority 
  1.3             vote for the city to construct a new telephone 
  1.4             exchange where one already exists. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [MOORHEAD MAJORITY VOTE FOR CITY TELEPHONE 
  1.7   EXCHANGE.] 
  1.8      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 237.19, or 
  1.9   other law, the city of Moorhead may construct a new telephone 
  1.10  exchange in any case including where an exchange already exists 
  1.11  if authorized by a majority of the electors voting on the 
  1.12  proposition at a general election or a special election called 
  1.13  for that purpose.  
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [LOCAL APPROVAL AND STATE FILING REQUIRED.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day after the chief clerical 
  1.16  officer of the city of Moorhead complies with Minnesota 
  1.17  Statutes, section 645.021, subdivision 3.
