  1.2             relating to education finance; authorizing a best 
  1.3             practices grant for intermediate school districts Nos. 
  1.4             287, 916, and 917; appropriating money.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [BEST PRACTICES GRANT.] 
  1.7      $1,350,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2002 from the 
  1.8   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.9   learning for a best practices grant to intermediate school 
  1.10  districts Nos. 287, 916, and 917.  The intermediate school 
  1.11  districts must use the grant proceeds to train teachers of 
  1.12  special needs students under Laws 1998, chapter 398, article 5, 
  1.13  section 42.
