  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing private sale of 
  1.3             certain surplus state land in Houston county. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF SURPLUS STATE LAND; HOUSTON 
  1.6   COUNTY.] 
  1.7      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 94.09 and 
  1.8   94.10, the commissioner of natural resources may sell by private 
  1.9   sale the surplus land that is described in paragraph (c). 
  1.10     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.11  attorney general for consideration no less than the appraised 
  1.12  value of the land.  The conveyance shall reserve to the state an 
  1.13  access easement to ensure access for state forest management. 
  1.14     (c) The land to be conveyed is located in Houston county 
  1.15  and is described as: 
  1.16     That part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter 
  1.17     of Section 18, Township 104 North, Range 7 West, Houston 
  1.18     county, Minnesota, as described as follows: 
  1.19     Commencing at the southeast corner of said Southeast 
  1.20     Quarter of the Southeast Quarter; thence on an assumed 
  1.21     bearing of West along the south line of said Southeast 
  1.22     Quarter of the Southeast Quarter 555.0 feet to a 3/4 inch 
  1.23     by 24 inch rebar with a plastic cap stamped "MN DNR SURVEY 
  1.24     MARKER" (DNR MON) and the point of beginning; thence 
  2.1      continuing West along the south line of said Southeast 
  2.2      Quarter of the Southeast Quarter 279.99 feet to Point "A"; 
  2.3      thence continuing West along the south line of said 
  2.4      Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter 113.01 feet; 
  2.5      thence North 82.50 feet; thence East 126.54 feet to Point 
  2.6      "B"; thence continuing East 137.46 feet; thence North 82.50 
  2.7      feet; thence West 162.50 feet to Point "C"; thence 
  2.8      continuing West 101.50 feet; thence North 34.71 feet to a 
  2.9      DNR MON; thence East 90.97 feet to Point "D"; thence 
  2.10     continuing East 302.03 feet to a DNR MON; thence South 
  2.11     199.71 feet to the point of beginning; containing 1.30 
  2.12     acres. 
  2.13     (d) The commissioner has determined that the land is no 
  2.14  longer needed for any natural resource purpose, other than 
  2.15  access to be provided by easement, and that the state's land 
  2.16  management interests would best be served if the land was 
  2.17  returned to private ownership to correct an inadvertent trespass.
