  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to public lands; authorizing a private sale 
  1.3             of certain tax-forfeited land in Ramsey county. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [TAX-FORFEITED LAND IN RAMSEY COUNTY.] 
  1.6      (a) Notwithstanding the public sale provisions of Minnesota 
  1.7   Statutes, chapter 282, Ramsey county may sell by private sale 
  1.8   the tax-forfeited land that is described in paragraph (c), under 
  1.9   the remaining provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  1.10     (b) The sale must be in a form approved by the attorney 
  1.11  general. 
  1.12     (c) The land to be sold is located in Ramsey county and is 
  1.13  described as:  
  1.14     (Except the East 910 feet), the North 356 feet of the 
  1.15  Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (subject to roads), 
  1.16  in Section 3, Township 29, Range 22. 
  1.17     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  1.18  management interests would best be served if the land was sold 
  1.19  to Ramsey county to be used for library purposes. 
  1.20     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE; LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.21     Section 1 is effective the day after the governing body of 
  1.22  Ramsey county and its chief clerical officer timely complete 
  1.23  their compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, 
  1.24  subdivisions 2 and 3.
