  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to judgments; requiring additional 
  1.3             information in a creditor's affidavit; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 548.09, subdivision 2.
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 548.09, 
  1.7   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 2.  [JUDGMENT CREDITOR'S AFFIDAVIT.] No judgment, 
  1.9   except for taxes, shall be docketed until the judgment creditor, 
  1.10  or the creditor's agent or attorney, has filed with the court 
  1.11  administrator an affidavit, stating the full name, date of 
  1.12  birth, occupation, place of residence, and post office address 
  1.13  of, and any other identifying information on the judgment debtor 
  1.14  requested by the court administrator, to the best of affiant's 
  1.15  information and belief.  If the residence is within an 
  1.16  incorporated place having more than 5,000 inhabitants, the 
  1.17  street number of both the judgment debtor's place of residence 
  1.18  and place of business, if the debtor has one, shall be stated.
